Something like that happened to a windmill here in the Low Countries. The whole top blew off.

Aren’t those blades something like 100-200 feet across? They are huge, I know that. I’ve seen them arriving from Europe (where they are built) into the seaport of Olympia, Washington. They require a special flatbed truck and no “hairpin curves” to get to theiri destination. Wow!

I wonder how the camera happened to be there JUST when it self-destructed? Kinda creepy though– what with all the wind turbines going up like weeds here in the midwest.

That’s so sad. I hear those things come with braking mechanisms for high winds, but maybe not models as big as that one.

Yeah, that’s what happened to the one we used to have on the roof. And I miss it! It put our food processor to shame. You had to watch your fingers, but you could get tons of stuff sliced at once!
